CELSIUS Shirley Temple: The Holiday Mocktail in an Energy Can

Oct 26
2 min read

Every kid's first fancy drink was a Shirley Temple: ginger ale, grenadine, a maraschino cherry (or six). Sugar on sugar on sugar — about 30 grams in a glass, easy. CELSIUS just took that nostalgia and put it in an energy can: SPRITZ VIBE Winter Edition Sparkling Shirley Temple, with zero sugar and 200 milligrams of caffeine. Childhood memories, adult fuel. I have feelings about this.

What's in the Can

  • The flavor: juicy cherry, sparkling citrus, and a twist of fresh lime, with a hint of

pomegranate sweetness — the Shirley Temple formula, rebuilt.

  • Zero sugar: and about 15 calories and 2g carbs per can. Genuinely zero, not "low sugar."

  • The boost: 200mg caffeine plus CELSIUS's standard vitamin blend. This is a real energy

drink, not a soda in costume.

  • Limited edition: the Winter Edition of the SPRITZ VIBE line (the Summer Edition launched in July). Once the season ends, so does the flavor.

Shirley Temples Are Having a Moment

This isn't out of nowhere. The Shirley Temple has been revived everywhere lately — 7UP, OLIPOP, and Bloom have all done versions, and cocktail bars have their"Dirty Shirley." CELSIUS is the first big energy brand to chase it, and their chief brand officer framed it around holiday hosting, Friendsgiving, watch parties, and New Year's. Makes sense: a cherry-red, festive can that looks like a party drink and keeps you awake for it.

The Honest Part

  • 200mg of caffeine is a lot. That's two cups of coffee. At a holiday party that sounds fun at 8pm and feels very different at 2am. Time it like a pre-workout, not a nightcap.

  • Energy drinks aren't for the kids. The name is nostalgic; the contents are adult. The

mocktail is for them, this can is for you.

  • Sweetness is real. Zero sugar, but sucralose-sweetened flavors land candy-sweet. If you like your CELSIUS fruity, you'll be happy; if you prefer dry, try one can before committing to a case.

Where to Find It

Fans have already spotted it at Target, Sam's Club (one Las Vegas reviewer grabbed a whole

case), and Amazon, with broader rollout expected in the coming weeks. Early reviews are enthusiastic — "new favorite Celsius flavor" is a recurring phrase — but as always, resale listings at hype prices aren't worth it. Wait for shelf price.

A Shirley Temple that won't spike your blood sugar and will keep you standing through the whole holiday party? That's a trade I'll make. Just drink it before dinner, not after dessert.
