As a huge fan of KIND Zero snack bars, I was incredibly excited to pick up their Zero Added Sugar Nut Granola in the Apple Cinnamon flavor. I bought this specifically to sprinkle over my yogurt for a quick morning crunch.
Unfortunately, this product was a major disappointment. Right out of the bag, the granola comes in huge, clunky pieces that do not mix easily. Even worse was the flavor. It had a distinctly "off" chemical taste, which is completely weird considering the label clearly states there are no artificial sweeteners.
So, what is it actually sweetened with? A quick check of the ingredient list shows they use a combination of allulose and date powder. I am glad they at least avoided certain sugar alcohols. KIND successfully avoided maltitol here, but whatever formulation they used still resulted in an unpleasant, artificial-tasting apple flavor.
While I will continue to enjoy and recommend their regular granola bars, I cannot recommend their nut granola. If you are looking for a fantastic yogurt topping, I highly recommend picking up the Nutrail brand nut granola or the Catalina Crunch protein nut granola instead. Both have a much more pleasant flavor and a much better texture.
